广东文理职业学院简介
广东文理职业学院是广东省人民政府批准成立，国家教育部备案，面向全国招收国家任务生的全日制普通高等院校，隶属省教育厅。
学院坐落在南海之滨的中国首批对外开放沿海港口城市、中国优秀旅游城市、北部湾新兴科技工业城市——湛江市，这里人文荟萃，景色美丽，交通便利，水陆空交通网络直通全国各地，是莘莘学子理想的求学圆梦之地。
千亩“生态园林式”校园 ，依山傍水，环境优雅，文化底蕴浓厚，常年绿树成荫，四季繁花飘香，威武将军山，俏丽日月湖把校园点缀得绚丽多姿。学院建筑面积30多万平方米，拥有现代化的教学大楼、图书馆、行政大楼、设备先进的实训大楼、高标准的学生公寓、高校示范性餐饮中心、高标准的艺术馆，网球场、羽毛球馆、乒乓球馆、室内外篮球场、排球场等各类大型的体育场馆，遍布全院的校园信息化宽带网络。基础设施按15000人的办学规模配套建设，为学生提供了一个舒适的学习、生活环境。
学院专业群涵盖文学、理学、工学、经济学、管理学、法学等多个学科门类，设有人文系、财经系、管理系、外语系、艺术与传媒系、建筑工程系、汽车工程系、信息工程系、机电工程系、思政部、国际教育学院、继续教育学院、区域经济发展研究中心、粤西文化研究中心、电子电器研发中心等"九系一部二院三中心"，28个专业，58个方向。现有在校生6800人，教职员工528人，专任教师325人，“双师型”教师196名。正、副教授等高级专业技术职称教师占38％，博士、硕士学位教师占53％。师资队伍专业知识精、业务能力强、教学经验丰富，高素质、高学历、高职称，结构合理。近年来，聘请了30多名著名专家、教授为学院的特聘教授和学科带头人；引进了50多名知名度高的专家、教授为各专业课程带头人；培养了80多名基础扎实，教学水平高、科研能力强的中青年骨干教师，充实了教师队伍。已形成完整的适应国家与地方经济社会发展需要的人才培养体系。先后聘请美国、英国、加拿大的专职外籍教师从事教学和科研工作，每年邀请海内外专家、学者来校讲学交流，使教育教学充满活力，让学生拓展视野，提升文化涵养。
学院坚持以就业为导向，以职业能力培养为特色，培养高素质的应用型人才。不断开拓办学思路，与国家级示范性院校结为战略联盟，加强对口交流与支持，努力打造人才培养的创新平台。学院致力推进校企合作，建有一大批校外实训基地，注重学生自主学习能力和实践动手能力的培养，注重提升学生的综合素质。不断加强学生职业能力训练，积极引导学生学以致用，提高专业实践能力。学院培养的学生专业基础知识扎实、实践动手能力强、综合素质高，富有敬业创新精神，特别在组织管理能力、协调沟通能力和语言表达能力等方面深受用人单位好评。学院的总体就业率达98%以上，部分毕业生已走上领导岗位，大部分成为大中型企业的骨干和技术支柱，成为各条战线上的排头兵和主力军。
学院秉承“以人为本，以德施教”的教育管理理念，2006年以来分别获得“全国文明单位”、 “军民共建社会主义精神文明先进单位”等国家级荣誉和“广东省文明单位”、 “广东省军民共建先进单位”、湛江市“安全文明校园”和“园林式单位”等荣誉，连年被省、市评为“社会治安综合治理先进单位”。
学院党、政、工、团组织健全，建立了完善的思想政治工作体系，重视在青年学生、骨干教师和管理干部中发展新党员，党建工作取得优异的成绩。几年来，学院党委分别被广东省教育工委、湛江市委、湛江市直属工委评为“先进基层党组织”、“十佳基层党委”。学院注重学生管理工作，学生管理工作制度健全，拥有一支擅长管理、经验丰富的辅导员管理队伍。学院实行“全日制全住校”准军事化管理。多年来，校园秩序井然、读书学习蔚然成风、人文情怀浓郁、环境舒适安全，赢得“学在广东文理”的社会美誉。
学院充分汲取和利用国内外名校的优质教育资源，引进知名大学的专业和课程，实施多元化国际合作办学模式，分别与美国洛杉矶塞拉利昂大学、英国奥斯特大学、马来西亚英迪大学、厄瓜多尔圣灵大学等国外知名院校签署了相互教育、学术交流的合作协议，为我院学生出国深造搭建了绿色通道。学院不断探索办学的新路子，积极为地方经济建设、科技进步和社会事业发展培养更多的高素质人才，努力办成有影响力的品牌院校。
The Guangdong Institute of Arts and Sciences (GIAS) is a full-time post-secondary institution of higher learning approved by the Guangdong Provincial Government, and recognized by the Ministry of Education of China.
GIAS is located in Zhanjiang, the southern coastal city of Mainland and one of the industrial cities of Beibu Gulf. Facing one of China's most beautiful waterfronts on the Jiuzhou River, it is surrounded by the Jiangjun Mountain and Riyue Lake. The campus covers 300,000 square meters, and it is known as a vast ecological garden-style institution of higher education, which serves as an ideal place for teaching, learning and research.
As supporting 15,000 students, the campus boasts best university resources, including the modernized Student Activity Centre, Practical Training Centre, full facilitated Gymnasium, Library Information Centre, different designed Study Hall, Laboratory building, spacious and comfortable Student Apartments. GIAS supports wireless network access using Wi-Fi technology in many areas across campus that enhances the primary commitment to its students' learning. GIAS offers programs in multiple disciplines of literature, science, engineering, economics, management, and law with the following departments: Humanities, Finance, Management, Foreign Languages, Arts and Media, Architectural Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Information Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. The academic program consists of 28 majors and establishes the foundation that permits students to explore in greater depth of 58 directions.
Presently, the campus is home to more than 6,800 undergraduate students and 528 faculty and staff. It has a teaching staff of 325, among whom 38% are full or associate professors and 53% are master's or doctoral degree holders. In addition, GIAS employs visiting professors and long-term foreign experts from United States, Britain and Canada. Each year, we invite specialists and scholars both from Mainland and abroad for academic exchange. In this outstanding environment, members of faculty and staff build up a strong team which striving to help all students in discovering, learning, and looking forward. With programs offerings range from Arts to Sciences, GIAS is committed to facilitating student access to university education that combines the career benefits of an applied approach with opportunities for community-oriented at the undergraduate level programs. GIAS earned a good reputation for its paramilitary management, and the comfortable and safe campus.
Many students take advantage of GIAS's great learning options to study abroad. GIAS partners with institutions outside of China for the delivery of collaborative linked programs. The program designed to give students new opportunities to complete part of their study in a different country. It accredited partner-institutions include University of Ulster (England), Holy Spirit University of Ecuador, and INTI International University (Malaysia). Students gain enriched experiences through these programs to fulfill their dream in life.
Enhancing practical training, and urging the balance of academic and practical intelligence are not only fundamental to all the programs in GIAS, but guaranteed the over 98% employment rate after graduate. It is an education that people can develop good skills and attitudes for career success and abilities to accomplish their success in life.
